UNITED STATES COAST GUARD APPROVED RADAR

XXMartin International offers Radar Observer courses for Masters, Mates or towing vessel Operators seeking the Radar Observer endorsement on the license. We offer the following U.S.C.G. approved courses:

• Radar Observer Unlimited - 5 day (covers oceans, inland and rivers)
• Radar Observer Inland -4 day (covers inland & rivers)
• Radar Observer Rivers - 3 day
• Radar Observer Recertification - 1 day

Upon course completion, students will demonstrate proficiency in determining the movement of contact vessels, the CPA (closest point of approach) and using a change of course or change of speed to safely clear other vessels by the required distance. In addition, the stu­dent will be able to determine the con­tact vessel’s relative and true course and students practice their skills using the “Nautilus” radar simulation in various inland and offshore scenarios.
